Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can used equipment be certified?
A.

Certification requirements for used equipment vary by importing country. We will confirm whether certification is required based on the details of the used equipment and provide the necessary information for certification compliance. Some countries require the same technical standards as for new products, so prior confirmation is necessary to ensure the used equipment meets those technical standards.

Q. Can you translate and negotiate technical standards in different countries?
A.

Translation of technical standards from various countries is available for a fee. We will provide support for negotiations to the best of our ability; however, depending on the content and country involved, negotiations may prove difficult. We will assess the content and target country before determining our support options.

Q. How much does certification cost and how long does it take?
A.

Certification costs and timeframes vary significantly depending on the target country and product type. While it would be ideal if a single certification allowed expansion into all countries, the current reality is that each country and product type has its own specific regulations, requiring individual compliance measures.

Generally, the process to obtain certification involves passing specified tests and submitting required application documents to the relevant authorities. Costs can range from several hundred thousand yen to around one hundred million yen, and lead times vary considerably from about two weeks to one year, depending on the product. Therefore, we conduct thorough consultations in advance.
